How has the Year been for you?

-Thank you Tab!-
she's getting better at it, can't wait for christmas next year again!:p

ANd the year 2008 is going to pass in a flash a few hours from now.

Looking through the year, the trips I went to Thailand on a more real mission trip, where that focus on why you are there is so important, serving as your basis for you presence there. A trip to KL for a Children's Conference that gave me another perspective to Children's in church, coming to a realisation that children need to start owning this mustard seed of faith from young, you no need to wait for classes to teach you about faith.

OUTRigger Island was a blast, things the songs teach to the children. Watching people taking up more leadership roles, kids loving their Island guides(I/Cs), children cheering for one another in games, seems like something has been imprinted in the hearts of the children.
the major changes in my life from boy to army boy(hopefully army man:P). God blessed me with a wonderful company, really cool people in the bunk, the beauty of his creation in the jungles, and the sun rising every morning. I learnt about humility, especially when you start getting more fit, and your body starts showing a little hint & people walk past you with "woww, woww, somebody getting fitter ar" , How do you handle that...
You depend on HIM more, especially when you feel unwell, then you realised how weak you are in the midst of HIM, and on top of getting well by his Grace, is to continue to praise HIM, acknowledging he's 1st...

Fieldcamp, with the moon brightly lited, spending reflection time while on the night duty looking out into the field.

-"keep praying even in the ucky mud, in the quiet jungle and when you're super tired"-

I have been posted to the SAF band!
been learning things, trying to maintain the fitness level(wanting to pass my Fitness test la)
GOd must have HIS purpose for me being there.
perhaps to continue to serve as much to my abilities for HIM..
-PEACE-
I hope you had a great Year, with thanksgivings that you can share.... May 2009 for each one of you be filled with another year that we give thanks to the Lord daily, with wisdom to remember that we need to depend on HIM(:

Annual SAFRA RETREAT 2008

-Gathering at bungalow 19-
my Mum's side had the annual retreat at the Changi Safra resort. Sunny island, blue skies, aeroplanes flying whizzing past over your head, smell of bbq smoke, knocking mahjong tiles as they shout 'Pong!", people jumping for joy as they out wit the banker in a game of blackjack.
The bungalows under went a revamp. it was 'wow' when I got there...the colours make it mroe like a chalet, with modern touches in the building itself, more mirrors[more people can tidy themselves when they wake up;p], toilets look more like toilets. BBQ pits, table top that now opens the kitchen & dinig area. NOW we're talking chalet.

It always great that we gather for such events. Am thankful to be blessed to have such a happening extended family, where the adults make it point to meet up on top of sundays, Chinese new year or my grandma's birthday.

Taking like lots of pictures, sleeping like really late. By the time the younger ones are lying on the beds&I finally find my space in the living room it's 3am!
Manage to gasp in the morning sun at the pool with the cousins& 1 more session on a sunday evening, were they tried wrestling me, for some reason. woke up with like aches all over, aging aging...haha

He did it again

Yesterday Han, Xiang, Cailin, Ryan, Amanda, Joseph & myself
took on the task of painting the exterior walls of the back rooms. It was great to see everyone hard at work, having at the same time laughing their heads off, listening to music music & more music. English, Korean, japanese...
I think for once we were louder than our next door temple neighbour:D
It looked like it wanted to rained again, with the overcast skies. I looked at the sky & thought to my self, this is one of those moments where you say to HIM,"Lord if you're willing, you will hold the rain."
He did it again & we were blessed for the afternoon.
Amazing He is.

-Projecting the words on the wall--Ryan: "come give me the paper, will trace it"-
-Joseph with his ingenious idea to block the light while trying to project the words on the wall-
-Work work & more work to be done-
Note: more people came to help complete the thing
-A Fantastic job the team did--It's done!-

Thank GOd for the team & the day(:

POP Loh!

-Your Son Graduated from BMT-
POP LOH! It's the common 'shout-out' in most recruits from BMT. it means you done your 24km March around Tekong & your Grad March a.k.a Pass-out Parade.

Waking at 4am, heared a voice telling us to get up. I opened my eyes to a room that was still dark. That was strange because, my mates will usually get up earlier than me to turn on the lights which signals my turn to wake up. SO i dashed to the switch, 'ra-ra' the guys to get up and change and that was the last time I saw my Bunk and room. Thank God, It was our officier's good intention of waking us up earlier so that we don't snowball time of moving out for the 24k.
Finally reaching the end point, it was adrenaline pumped into your blood again after the march as we saw landmarks. Marching into the parade square as someone in the contingent instead of the people in the band playing the music was indeed a First for me.

These 3 Months, God has shown me his Goodness, his promises, his wisdom & strength. He taught me to trust Him more. especially when rain seems to wanna fall anytime, but He holds the rain time after time. The relationship, when it comes to raining goes to a deeper level, don't know how to explain in technical terms but it does. Goes back to the days I spent in Thailand. Preparing for the Hmong Lao Refugee Outreach [www.newlifeoutreach.blogspot.com], or spending the night with a campfire outreach for the Hmong Thai Children from the village.
That experiences made me grew a little microscopic bit with God, and there is this joy after I watch HIM move through the situation.

He showed me humility, not comparing yourselves to others especially physical fitness wise but instead focus on your training & help those who might be in need of the extra 'push' for training.

He Gave me the strength&courage to march on even if it was Heavy Rain pattering on my helmet, and lightning that seemingly makes me the most prominent conductor after trees in the field, when running seems to exhaust you already&the many days out in fieldcamp.

He Showed me the many stars in the sky at night in the forest that reminded me of how powerful HE was more than I thought.

Days in Army

WOw, it has been i think close to 60days since i began my time with the army. Just recently completed my fieldcamp, with chilly sleeps. With the cold nights I began to make sense of an army song that we sing all the time on routemarches. "when the cold wind blows, I know I know" literally. THe beautiful sunrise and sunsets that greet us each day, the songs of teh night when the frogs, toads, crickets come out to play, the countless stars at night with the moon brightly shining at us. spending some time with HIM in the night while staying doing some du
sometimes roughing it out, with hands filled with dirt from the ground.

the past month have been sick, beginning with shortness of breath, which I think was a littel exertion to my lungs from carrying heavy stuff.Went to do checks, a lung function test, things came out normal. Mum felt that I was too kan-chiong, that made the symtoms appear, and perahps watching all my mates going on with training while I could only observe them made me think like," wow everyone is getting fitter while I stagnate."
during that 2 weeks was reflecting on it, asking GOD,"what do you exactly want me to be in the army?" con't in BMT or perhaps you ahve another calling elsewhere in the army.
Perhaps was that I focusing on myself too much
When I was allowed to particpate again, had to go for routemarches that I missed. TOld myself, relax relax, just focus & keep walking.
THank GOd I walked 2 marches, particpated in activities again.
While on status made new friends[other people who were sick for periods of time] too from otehr platoons in my company which turned out to be a blessing.

THe conclusion was no matter what happened, He is to be praised, He will show me. Just like what happened when I was in Thailand when there were some difficulty entering the campsite, the groups just dedicated the day, getting away from distractions and glorifying HIM.
You jsut had to focus on HIM

since then, the task that I undertook reminded me, ok Lord you're in control, and to RELAX! which I share with other people, cos sometimes, people are so caught up in accomplishing things[in a good way] that they get kan chiong. now I tell them to "relax".

another week into BMT, bringning in another attribute that I need to learn.
That is to be humble which I learnt at cell yesterday, giving GOd his due glory before.
Placing Him 1st.

on another note, it's my cousin Joechim or Joekim wedding today!went for the tea ceremony, meeting up with cousins & relatives. put pictures when i come out
Off I go to get ready for book in tonight...hope everyone is have a great week!(:

See you later!

-Finally a Tai-lut[take picture in thai] with Shron-

mannn, was packing for NS a little frantic for me. I tend to put things all over the place la, Thank GOd I found all thethings I needed.
On top of the things that they get you to bring, there are pretty important things that I should be bringing, which I brought!
So it's not just to follow instruction, there is a degree of 'trying to be smart by yourself' or initiative to do sometimes. Kept that in my mind.
It's been encouraging to know that as I enter, God has blessed me a community of support, which I give HIM thanksgiving.

My times at Mindchamps Preschool, has been wonderful, and to end it off with a belated teacher's day bash was delightful. Pictures which I have will have to come after i come out. Hopefully I have energy left, it has been said that you come out every week so so tired. Let's see how I handle that, Do my best!

Take care my Friends, allow HIM to use you to bless others(:

Xin Qi Yi!

sleeping late is not a very good idea. especially with a day ahead and training on conducting informal gym activities using the school's gym room in the evening.

Reading in the train this morning, Something that I was reading talked about Christians that are 'busy doing GOd's work'. That all this doing without a heart change is meaningless.
Was reflecting upon the things that I do, and asked myself, "what about you Jacob?"
moving into more focused purpose of saying you're serving in the Lord's Kingdom & whom is this for?

When people praise you for an attribute that they saw you in[which seems to be happening to me], remember to who's glory it goes to(:

It's by God' Grace that I still have energy to be up now[sleeping soon of course].
The evening training was very fun, it's more of doing instead of sitting there to listen what activities can be done. It was by Carmee Lim, wow, I really salute her for never-ending attitude towards learning & being excited about new things/discoveries.

Learning about how the brain grows, why we do certain exercises, how to facilitate the growth of differet parts of brain for child's neurons to make effective connections. If you set your mind on something, You will be able to do it, keep practising and working in the area...
We have 100billion of these neurons from birth. Wow....

there's live demostration from her 4 grandchildren, timely & effectively presentation. But children being children, you see them in the moment trying to impress grandma doing the higher level steps while grandma, moving around none stop, with lots of adrenaline in their blood.
That's children for you
Was wonderful to see the teachers coming out to participate and trying it and so eager to test it out with their children in the mornings

Will miss the children, teachers the school that I spent with for 2months, and into a new season in life.

Something i took away from the training.
-Neurons and 'fire' together, wire together-

Praying for people who's still in te midst of exam marathon...jia you jia you!

Working people, be His Witness as you live your life daily amongst HIS people(:

A brand new week ahead!

Early mornings are so interesting sometimes, especially when you are doing something halfway, decided to take a reset by walking around, ending up in your brother's room. He wakes up, seems like he's half awake, that was really funny watching him repeat something that he jsut did earlier in the day.

Early in the night, we watched the closing ceremony of the Olympics. Wow, so fast and poof!16 days have gone past...

Later in the night we have re-telecast of Locally made movies. Tonight was timely
"Army Daze" the Movie. I watched it Long Long time ago, when Jacob was schooling in primary school.
The whole family was sitting there trying to remember the parts of this movie. Had 1 of my hardest laugh in a long while, super funny mann.
It's really funny with the way they show you what happens in an average army barrack, people from different backgrounds and coming together where they build bonds & 'knock it down' together.
And you say temporary good bye to your family peeps & friends for a while. My mum was laugh at the extreme stuff they do, especially that mum. i was like, " wait till it comes to you turn."
Which I think she will be fine, better con't to prep myself ...

So before the week whizzes, here's a short segment of the movie. Enjoy(:

Joshua Our dear brother is leaving for China for 6 weeks
it passes fast & it 's gonna be good exposure.
We pray for him even as he steps foot on foreign soil that He be a witness, a Light that shines in darkness, lighting up the path, being an encouragement to the peopel he will meet & be with in this 6 weeks.
Take care Bro, we are gonna see you really soon!(:

Have a blessed week ahead my friends!

It's Friday

With training at school on Wednesday, we were talking about focusing on becoming the other & what is our intention in telling the children different things and understanding waht your mindsets gets you to do sometime.

The becoming the 'other' activity taught to be fully focused on the other individual, and not be self conscious. you wanna really be like that person or children.
Even in te middle of the sometimes chaos of children trying to test
"how you gonna handle me when i respond this way"
tactics,
you wanna be focused on your intentions objectively & go with the children, being 'other' conscious.

-Learning to be focused on getting my task get ahead-

I think God is teaching me something about giving, woww.
Draw nearer to HIM

Take Care my friends!(:

-Encouraging you-
something that I read from my email this evening...
"To know the will of God is the greatest knowledge.
To do the will of God is the greatest labour.
To know what you do pleases God is the greatest pleasure."

Tuesdays

I Had a day of photo taking for the teachers. Taking Candid shots, wrestling the camera from them as they feel some shots are not too glamrous.

-Counsin@ Chijmes, taken a long long ago-

Going down for a workshop on teaching your child to read, especially with the very young children. It was a sharing cum seminar shession by this lady, Jackie Silberg. Looking at the ladies in the audience & myself being the ONLY gentleman, it struck me, that these people will actually make their way here in an evening wanting to do something with their children back at their centres. And what keeps these ladies going?
Got a renewal what the Early years, even the few months old infants are that important, and we overlook it sometimes, because they can't respond such as talking for us to assess whether they are progressing in different areas. They are absorbing more than we think.

An Article that was shared with me..Be blessed by this short write up from My brother & sister in Christ, Keen Hoe & Li Ting(:

The Duck & the Devil

There was a little boy visiting his grandparents on their farm.
He was given a slingshot to play with out in the woods.
He practiced in the woods; but he could never hit the target.
Getting a little discouraged, he headed back for dinner.
As he was walking back he saw Grandma's pet duck.
Just out of impulse, he let the slingshot fly, hit the duck square in the head and killed it. He was shocked and grieved!

In a panic, he hid the dead duck in the wood pile; only to see his sister watching! Sally had seen it all, but she said nothing.

After lunch the next day Grandma said, 'Sally, let's wash the dishes'
But Sally said, 'Grandma, Johnny told me he wanted to help in the kitchen.'
Then she whispered to him, 'Remember the duck?'
So Johnny did the dishes.

Later that day, Grandpa asked if the children wanted to go fishing and Grandma said, 'I'm sorry but I need Sally to help make supper.'

Sally just smiled and said, 'Well that's all right because Johnny told me he wanted to help'
She whispered again, 'Remember the duck?' So Sally went fishing and Johnny stayed to help.

After several days of Johnny doing both his chores and Sally's; he finally couldn't stand it any longer.
He came to Grandma and confessed that he had killed the duck.

Grandma knelt down, gave him a hug and said, 'Sweetheart, I know. You see, I was standing at the , windowand I saw the whole thing
but because I love you, I forgave you. I was just wondering how long you would let Sally make a slave of you.'
Thought for the day and everyday thereafter?

Whatever is in your past, whatever you have done... And the devil keeps throwing it up in your face (lying, cheating, debt, fear, bad habits, hatred, anger, bitterness, etc.) ..whatever it is...You need to know that God was standing at the window and He saw the whole thing.

He has seen your whole life.
He wants you to know that He loves you and that you are forgiven. He's just wondering how long you will let the devil make a slave of you.

A Monday, start of the week!

On Sunday, we had the previlage of Naveen and family to share their testimony. How easier for a 2nd generation christian to take his/her faith for granted. In his own time, as we seek tobring non-believers to christ, that we be humbled by HIM as we seek to share the love story that God gave us to others who might not know HIM yet.

The Singaporean table tennis team put up a pitch for the Gold, which the China team really lived up to their No. 1 standing. the smacks are accurate, with calm nerves.
was at my 2nd aunty's place for dinner. Steamboat, which we went to the outside table for Korean BBq style. You eat significantly more butter than the actual food, but all in the name of fun! The child at enrichment classon sunday was much better today. Thank God!Let's keep reinforcing on postive behaviours & ignoring the negative ones(:

The monday comes with me having 2 mroe weeks at Mindchamps Preschool. the enlistment date of 12th Sept. Everyday at the school, for myself, when I look at the children or the environment, I get really excited when I link something back to what i learnt. Sometimes it's quite discouraging that you know something needs to be done but you seem to forgotten..
Children love to act up when you least expect them to be.

God keep your children & people in your arms(:
Tuesday Tuesday Tuesday, reminds me of 'Tuesdays with Morrie"(:
How wonderful it is to Honour Him(:

Take care my Friends! People with Exams jia you jia you, HE will give you the courage to overcome any challenges ahead with wisdom and strength(:
People who are the working bunch, that the busyness will not distract you from drawing close to HIM(:

P.S: Pictures to be uploaded

4A Class outing with an Inconveinent truth

We had a blast of a time at Sentosa. It stated with some prep at Giant Hypermart at VIVOCity. Queuing up to buy the admission pass, people were saying," it's been ages I came to Sentosa." and people asking about my height, how 1 saw me from a distance when we were walking , what are the secret foods that contribute the height growth.joking with one another :D

PLaying different games, captain's ball, volleyball, frisbee& this game that our classmate Sean wanted to teach us.
It's like everyone is in this court area. and in 2 teams, the objective is to knock the opponents out. It's done through players passing the ball to each other, and when they are near the opponent player, you use the ball to 'tag' Him/her. when you 'tag' you are confine to your area . we were running around, tagging one another. perspiring really lots. Thank God for the water we got at Giant to keep us hydrated.
It was a good time of fellowship with one another, as we get older, these times are much treasured moments, where you stop and look back how far you have gone since secondary school days with one another.
It's a blessing to be able to meet up with your peeps from secondary school, catch up with them.
Thank God for that(:

Met up for dinner with Eoin, Phebe, Shadrach, Han, Xiang, Mr Yao...Italian food is tasty, alittle over the cost but it's good food.
Tiramisu has wonderful taste,a thought to learn to make it

something I learnt : Responsibility is one thing, Purpose is another thing.

A truth that gets me thinking, and as you think about it, the thing gets bigger, a little messy.
[jacob not very good at holding so many thoughts for this particular situation seh]
Mai pen rai (it's alright in thai)

Instead of dwelling in helplessness in not solving the problem, Pray for GOd' wisdom in the situation. Pray for us to discern what is HIS decision for the next step, In Jesus , whom we believe he did for us, Amen(:

GIve thanks for the days that we Live!

An evening at Granny's

-Say Cheese!-
Today's menu Special: Stemboat!

Today's dinner was just fantastic, Got an sms in the morning from my cousin saying that Ah-ma's inviting for dinner tonight!

It all started from me returning her house keys on Monday after having hoarding it over the National day holiday. walking between her house and my uncle's place which is just beside hers.
The whole talk was about
"next you want to come, inform us earlier la" says Ah ma
Had wanted to go have dinner at her place every Monday for the next month or so before i enlist on on September 12th, since my Sunday afternoons were taken up with things going on in church.

was very elated to be part of the fellowship at her palce with 3 uncles and cousins all eating.

Am really thankful for an extended family who shows me what graciousness is, what being family, to enjoy each others company.

Just sitting in front of the TV, with my 3rd uncle back from Shanghai for the summer, heraing him sharing insightful thought/jokes on things we watch on TV lightens the evenings.

People never fail to ask,
" ehh, you going into army, ready anot?"
like so NOT....
Taking a break before the big Day on 12th September. that's what is recommanded. Was so tempted to going to work in sept to help out for their 1st week where new children will come in. BUt te conclusion was, Rest...Prepare your heart, your mind, your body, prepare enough fuel to be that light in darkness when i falls while in camp, be that salt that is cultivated properly sot hat when it's being used for 'passing the flavour' to others, it is in good condition.
it's not about being physically ready only, it's mentally ready. You can be fit, but if your mind and heart is not ready, you will take lots more stress than usual. And it's also so with your beliefs, your faith will be challenged. How do you respond as a Christian, as a witness for Christ?

Continuing the week ahead with gratitude and continuous wanting to seek GOd, Honour HIM, mannn how easy to say and harder to acct upon it?

HAVE A BLESSED WEEK MY FRIENDS, UPs AND DOWNs HE BE YOUR TOWER OF STRENGTH(:

12th August 2008

Have to credit Naveen for sharing this video!Terima kasih abang[thank you bro] (:

How has everyone been?haha, I have received 2 notifications to update my blog. Which is quite true, what's a blog without updates of reflections from Life & walking with HIM. Between the previous post and now, there are 3 entries squished in between. Jacob has gotten a little lazy in blogging things that I come across daily. really interesting things.

Teacher: "We are gonna celebrate Singapore's Birthday tomorrow children"[Friday]
Child: " Singapore is coming to the school?"

A brief giggle in celebration of child's response to Singapore's Birthday
-the innocence that children exhibit-

Hope everyone is going well. No one goes well all the time. When you don't, Allow Him to minister to you.
P.S: The pictures are coming!don't put off too long:D

Kaboom + Durians/Liew Lian Season is here!

Today at Kaboom Worship with the children, It was one of those sundays where sharing the lesson, I didn't really bring out the essence of what I wanted to, and their activity became a little hard to associate with the lesson. A reminder yet again about conducting any lesson for children. PREPARATION!

The thoughts that have been with me since some time ago came back again.
we wanna make their time at the kaboom worship worthwhile, to grow in their relationship with GOD.

It's a week after week affair to give our best for the Lord and his people, the children, and not grow weary for our strength, if in him we will be renewed with HIM. Praise the Lord for that(:

After Choir that afternoon, Phebe brought out a durian cake to relish. YumYum, the durian season!
-Durain Cake!-

From Top-Left Clockwise:
Han,Eoin, Keen Hoe, Phebe

Mr Foo a.k.a Yao

From left : Yao & Myself

During the whole ordeal, there was talk about going to have MORE durian. And off we set off to Toa Payoh Lorong 7 to the durian stall.

I know why 3 durians cost 20 dollars, the size of the seed with aound of flesh on it spoke for it self.

Think there's something in the fruit. We had a good laugh as I began to laugh in joy. The taste of the durian in a long while and eating by the stall with church mates is quite a fellowship.
Durians- another way to get 'high'

-From Top-left,clockwise: Phebe, Shadrach, Yao, Eoin-

While eating it, had this thought that whizzed in my mind.
Sometimes we are like durians, thorny, hard to open, but GOd doesn't give up, he keeps trying to open it, for he knows of the good fruit that is waiting in there.
Am sure others can form another analogy form another point of view.

Hope everyone walks this week with courage, Love and strength. Assignments and school, tests even work does use lots of it.

Take care & GOd blesss my friends(:

GOOOD

As a wise saying goes from Aunty Kwai Theng[thank you for the tip&reminders!Especially through her children's fine example(:]:
Xian ku Hou Tian
Which means directly as bitter 1st then comes te sweet.
So actauly insteead of putting it off, why not just get it done?

The week that ended 12th July 2008
The weekend was filled with a whole day conference with mindchamps Pre-sch..passing quite fast, with a refresher onto what I have been taught before. Gotta take out the documents to relook and apply it into my life. Taking the bus to church and walking over from toa payoh, looking over the sky saw the sun peering behind the buildings just about to set.
From the rising of the sun to it's going down Let's praise his name(:

Keen Hoe Keen Hoe our dear brother had to eat a plate filled with mee siam, some salad that topped offed with mayonise & 2 limes & drops of apple juice
NDP 2008, wow, just love it when the planes do their formation & Manage to catch the glimpse and shot in the process. recollecting the times when tickets were so available for my family to go watch[thanks to a quite high ranking army uncle of mine] & the time where P.5s go for their annual National Education Show.
Singning your national anthem like never so loud before, squeezing, getting squash, the goody bags, one of those late nights back form school, claiming to see a black snake swimming in the canal on the way back.
Those were just a few of the times that i remember as I grew up. wow wasn't that a remenisce.

Indeed HE, our creator is Good ALL the time. Though in times of trouble, He is near, not far.
When you don't understand, He shows us what's happening, uncovering our eyes.

Tuesdays

It's already tuesday...waking up with a red or a.k.a sore eye didn't help, but went to work, somehow got over it.
Getting to know my childrenbetter
Remembered speaking with Eoin[ a mentor of mine] about the song "Days of Elijah". linking to Something about children, even myself not rooted in OLd testement.
So i decided to search for the passage on the 'dry bones becoming as flesh'

Ezekiel 37
Wow, so that was what happened. A new dawning for Israel. Amen to that

Days Of Elijah

These are the days of Elijah,
Declaring the word of the Lord:
And these are the days of Your servant Moses,
Righteousness being restored.
And though these are days of great trial,
Of famine and darkness and sword,
Still, we are the voice in the desert crying
'Prepare ye the way of the Lord!'

Behold He comes riding on the clouds,
Shining like the sun at the trumpet call;
Lift your voice, it's the year of jubilee,
And out of Zion's hill salvation comes.

These are the days of Ezekiel, The dry bones becoming as flesh; And these are the days of Your servant David, Rebuilding a temple of praise. These are the days of the harvest, The fields are as white in Your world, And we are the labourers in Your vineyard, Declaring the word of the Lord!

Got sent back home a little earlier than usual, cos of the concern that sore eyes si CONTAGIOUS! which silly me didn't think was that severe, thought I would just isolate myself from children and get on doing my tasks in an isolated room. Turns out to be more serious than usual, so at the Polyclinic, It's quite a long wait, the whole thing took 1 1/2 hours. Wowww, but with he bible and then thinking of things kept me occupied for a while.

Reading to find where is our dear friend Elijah in the song also recollecting about my experience at ENRICHMENT WEEK, with Elijah blessing Elisha a double portion of blessing before ascending to heaven in a chariot of fire.

searching for it searching for it, found it in 1 Kings 18 onwards, about that amazing story of fire coming down from heaven to take the sacrifice that Elijah has placed, while worshippers of Baal were trying so hard to get a stationary object to receive the sacrifice.

Was given a bottle of 'artificial tears' and Anti-histemine to stop itching[which also makes you VERY sleepy] and rest at home

Hope everyone weeks' is going great, there wil certainly be not so great days, but keep drawing close to HIM(:

Mondays

Remebered, It was Chronicles of Narnia-The lion, the witch & the wardrobe on sunday night!
beautiful movie, though the times i watched it was on a dvd...
as the lion walks to the stone, the humiliation that he suffers, his giving his life because of what the boy did in a moment of rashness, the lion rising again,
reminds me of how Christ had to suffer before he laid his life even though he was blameless to begin with(:
The music simply moves, mannn, beautiful.

Today as I took the train to work, I thought I saw this person boarding the train at Buona vista, Looked simply like the chef on Hell's Kitchen, Gordan Ramsay. To add to the realness was his first comment, "packed like sardines yea?"...
Figuring here and there, everyone was like oblivious(it's extremely quiet in the train, with at least 30% of people sleeping) then I was like," oh well, then let it be." and 'Gordan Ramsay' left the train at Raffles place.

Realised after such a time(better late than never) that praying s such a easy thing to lose focus. doing so walking to the MRT station, halfway through my mind starts wondering off. Isnt' it easy to just fall away sometimes.

The old testement is such a rich text of God's providence with the land, and watching His people, falling away, GOd sends a foreign army to teach them a lesson & He still saves them in the end.

Thank GOd for the laminator, it's being sent for repair, phew....

GIve thanks for the beautiful days that we wake up daily to!(:

Ahead with the week

On saturday, there was a workshop conducted mainly for the young people who are serving in worship, from worship leader, to scripture I/C, to Lord's Supper i/cs, that to recognise themselves not as separate entities, but everyone working together to flow the whole worship for the congregation.
We are just mirrors that GOd use to reflect his Glory and prescene, we come to worship not to get something out of it, but to give our all to GOd. Coming unready means being like a cracked mirror, which only distracts instead of serving it's orginal purpose.
we gather together because of looking at 1st century churches, where persecution was rampant, that they gather together for strength & unity. Learning form that, people gather at church for such a purpose too.
I hope from here, as the youths better understand why we do the different things in worship, they lead the congregation with zeal & expression of their love for HIM.
-Strawberries Galore!-
The secret ingredient in making cheesecake. I wonder where mothers get their energy. She works, cleans, & cooks, and even bakes!. It is mentioned that daugthers help out mms more(from a dicussion with a friend)
guys, et's not follow that suit(:
Hope everyone have a blessed week ahead, gonna need HIM all the time, as i con't to work, labour on for HIM with the children.
May this week be yet another week we give thanks to HIM(:

Friday Friday Friday

Being a little taller than most people, i have to read on into another person's obok, tlaking about worship, someone seeing the quote from Mother Teresa
-Yesterday is past, Tomorrow has yet to come. You only have Today, use it well-
something along that line to tell met not procrastinate but do it.

Reflecting on Ezekiel, [think of the song these are the days of Elijah, where the 'dry bones becoming as flesh' which I am still finding] &Reading of a brother's thanksgiving of Isiah 53..
Reading his Word lifted me(:

I sometimes wonder how do I take soooo long to complete one task, it doesn't seem that long to take, but it is time consuming. Thank God the thing is completed, was tasked to make a collage for the GM who was speaking at the pre-school's meeting on friday evening. There will be a birthday celebration for June babies, followed by a surprise for him, with song(which he thought the 1st one was over until the trolley with his wife hidden under it came in, He was glad 7 telling us about not having such a unique celebration for him for a long long time)...
His sharing was very inspiring&hellpful personally, not just to excel as a professional in the organisation, but personally. There's the will& can chart, where you can divided people into 4 types,
(1) the will & can, (2) the will not & can (3) the will but cannot & (4) will not & cannot
-where are you in?-

Well, me and my butter fingers, lost a piece of laminating paper into the machine, it's kinda out of order, I hope to fix in when i come in monday, before creating the inconvenience out of everyone.

Give thanks to the Lord who gives me strength & grace(:
Something to wine down the week with(:
